Our Presence in the Community
We believe that giving back to the community is important. Whether the efforts we contribute are as an individual or a group, a positive impact can be made. Something as precious as time, which we often take for granted, can speak volumes about the kind of person you are without any audible mention of it. Taking the time out to help others can benefit you as well as those you help.
Adopt-A-Highway
We have a three-mile stretch of land near Greenbriar Mall that we clean. This project is designed to reduce highway litter and keep our neighborhoods presentable. Aggies are doing their part in beautifying the roads.
Atlanta Community Food Bank
This is an outreach initiative with the Atlanta Community Food Bank. The Product Rescue Center (PRC) is one of the projects of the Atlanta Community Food Bank that allows community members from all sectors of society to get involved in the fight against hunger. Volunteering these few hours helps supply food and other much needed products to nearly 700 nonprofit agencies in Metropolitan Atlanta and Northwest Georgia. The efforts include sorting, inspecting, and boxing non-perishable food items and paper goods for distribution to agencies that assist persons in soup kitchens, day care centers, nursing homes, job training programs, homeless and battered women shelters, and others in need.

It is a independent living rental community for seniors aged sixty-two and older and offers a full range of services for them. Living expenses for the occupants is based entirely on their income. Our own Lillie Robbins serves as the chairperson of their Advisory Board and initiated our relationship with them eight years ago. Norman Johnson is also a former Advisory Board chairperson. As a community service project we will take goody bags including Valentine cards signed by chapter members to them for Valentine's Day.

Family Life Ministries
Family Life Ministries was founded by Jane Gunter in 1982, who with a coalition of concerned citizens and churches reached out to people who had fallen through the cracks of society. They rent the Sunday School building of East Point Presbyterian Church and has one part-time staff member and seventy-five volunteers. FLM provides all types of assistance to those in need and is a blessing to the East Point community. The Atlanta Alumni Chapter participates in their book drive for children during the Christmas Holiday season. The FLM also assists organizations in selecting families to adopt for the holidays.
Hosea Williams Feed the Hungry
We have supported this organization financially in the past. The foundation annually feeds over 20,000 people for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. It is one of, if not the, largest gatherings of the hungry and homeless in the Southeast. This foundation was launched in 1970.
